Hello

I'm new in this forum.
I'm an intern in nuclear medicine in France.
I think to go to work in USA after passing USMLE steps;
I wanted to know if Nuclear Medicine is a different specialty from Radiology in USA? Is it possible to be a physician in nuclear medicine in USA without being physician in Radiology? How much about earns a physician in nuclear medicine in USA each month? Is it more or less than a physicain in Radiology? Is nuclear medicine a competitive specialty? For example is it difficult to obtain a residency or a fellowship in nuclear medicine? How many years it it?
Thank you for your answers.

Hi , nuclear medicine can be done as a fellowship after radiology or directly as a 3 year residency. For direct approach you need to do a preliminary year in medicine.
Earnigs are good for those who get a job, BUT to get a job is very difficult as there r limited openings now. I am not sure how it is going to change in future.
Pay is less than that for radiologists.
Nuclear medicne is not a competitive speciality as of now. the seats are usually given out of match.
