my question is lead is known to inhibit both ALA dehydrase which converts delta ALA to porphobilinogen as well as Ferrochelatase which converts protoporphyrin IX to heme with the addition of Fe2+. But with the former Lead would cause decrease amount of Protoporphrin.Right? Then why does it say there will be increased protoporphyrin in lead poisoning in the books?

ALA dehydrase in not blocked as strongly as Ferrochelatase.Protoporphyrin is formed but accumulated due to non-incorporation of Fe++ leading to Zn - protoporphyrin. Best of luck
