I have applied for the match this year. And hopefully i wish i get matched this year. I was thinking of joining a hospital in my city which has a good reputation as a volunteer ( research assistant) in say for example Dept. of Endocrinology. Will my joining now in November anyway help me in the Fellowship application in my second year. Do fellowship program directors consider research assisstant experience??

Absolutely. Get publications. But if you want to do Orthopedics I doubt Endocrinology research will help, for example.
