Kaplan Qbank USMLE

So after anxiously waiting for my score for exactly one week since it was updated on OASIS...here it is everyone! 239!

First of thanks to all of you for all the support! This site rocks! A special thanks to all of you who have PM'd me to support me.

Although i've already posted my NBME scores in an earlier 'exam experiences' post...i'm sure i'll be asked here, so here they are:

-Qbank 71% (76% complete)
-Qbook (about 70%)
-NBME1 192 (3 months out)
-NBME2 224 (1 month out)
-NBME3 228 (2 weeks out)

Step 1 taken on Sept. 28, 239/97

So there it is everyone, a HUGE leap from my last NBME score to my Step 1 score!

I never did Kaplan (neither notes or videos)....

It's very doable everyone...just stick to your basics. FA should be your primary study tool. All else should supplement your FA. Though a good solid background from Med school helps. (So this might not apply to the older grads...).
The only subjects you really need outside FA in my opinion are Path and Neuro. Path i used Goljan-audio...and Neuro i used High-yield Neuro.

Any questions feel free!

I can finally relax now! To all those taking it soon, i'm sure you'll all do amazing, just keep at it, and don't give up!

Once again thanks everyone! I'm sure i'll see you all in the Step 2 forums sooon.

hahaha...yes i also remember the days when i used to write "4 days left...ahhhhh..." haha

thanks ManuNastai...and yes i did YELL IT OUT when i found out!!!

Mobile, i studied pretty much since i first started med school, so roughly for 2 years. Of course while i was in med school i didn't get 'that much' studying done for the Step1. But i did browse FA while studying for my tests in med school, and that's when i put my notes in FA. Most of my studying came from this summer, which is also when most of you might have noticed me on this forum. I was on this site pretty much 24/7! This site helped me a lot in terms of motivation, and also to figure out what topics i'm weak in. And of course i always found GREAT explanations by many brilliant minds here.

DrFax, i only had maybe a handful of biostat and epi questions...all of which i was able to answer using FA and Qbank. One of my biostats q's was word for word from Qbank (+PPV), and the other was word for word from one of the NBME's that i took (% survival rate after 4 years...)

I'm actually not a US med student as someone PM'd me! I go to a caribbean med school, so you do NOT have to be a US student to do well!!

Just believe in yourself, and tell yourself everyday that you will do GREAT.
