Hi guys
I just took step 1 today , and for the record I already took step 2 ck 2 month ago and got 246/99
here is how I found the real exam
As usaul the 1st and last block were the hardist ( also the case for step 2)
a little bit more clinically oriented than NBME Exams, also most of the questions were 4 to 5 lines with some questions shorter or longer but nothing as long as step 2ck avarage question.
Time was quite adequate. I finished 10 min earlier and used the extra time to think more about the hard question
Strange enough I got tired faster than I did in step 2ck ( which is much more effort in every question and 1 block longer) actually I was so bored of studying ( 8 month with my face buried in books and computer screen) that I got bored with the exam itself. sometimes with my mind drift away.
on surpizing thing is that there were 2 questions with typos on them (both on the same block) on of them got one repeated answer. the other had 2 columns named "inorganic parathyroid" and "phosphorus hormone" I will send to usmle about that.
behevioral science here wasn't as tricky as step 2 ck most of them had clear answers.

I want to supplement the post with what I done
before I take step 2 ck ( which I took before step1) I red path and pharm and neuroanatomy
then I studied for 2 1/2 month only with a lot of time wasted, only red kapaln once with no videos or lectures.
Studied all UW questions well and ended with 67%
nbme 1 : 530 ( two weeks beofre)
nmbe 4 : 560 ( one week before) yes this is nmbe 4 not 2
nmbe 2 : 540 ( about 4 days before )
nmbe 3 : 580 ( about 2 days before)
after every exam I searched for the answers for the questions as much as I could
did few question in kaplan q book mainly some anatomy

well congratulations with best wishes for u in ur life , i m abdel rahman also from egypt and i will take my exam in the next 3 months , i want to know is it worhty to susbcribe in nbme ? how many tests are their ? and did u use the kaplan q bank or not ?

NBME is a good prediction tool also these question must be studied as many is repeated as is in real exam (about 5-7 which is good) . Nbme got 4 tests for step 1 and 3 for step 2ck each cost 45 USD to take the exam. NBME Main function is to give you a a score that is made exactly as the real exam.
didn't use online Kaplan QBANK but used Qbook and USMLEWORLD.COM is very important. also check the CD Collection at the local bookshop in the collage but don't waste your time with Qs that is not structured as USMLE format.
