hello!

i 'm new to the whole system and i have no idea how long one should take to prepare for step 1. its all pretty subjective depending on how intelligent one is and how many hours a day you'd actually spend studying. so lets say for someone who is of average intelligence and can spare about 15 hours a day can any of you give me a ballpark figure so i have some average idea ? or maybe you could share your own experiences i.e how long you took and what kinda scores you got.
thank you so so much smiling face.. and all the best to u for your step 1!

15 hours a day..u are going to burn urself out with that in a couple of months..

I think starting with 6-8 hours and taking it to 10-12 hours in the last couple months..with average intelligence..and ( depends on ur background basics also)...6 months is good enough..but thats my thought..I haven't yet given the exam..and as u said its pretty subjective. U need to see the material u want to study and then decide on the time line..

Best Of Luck

I think it also depends on whether you are a current med student or an IMG......which one are you? because most med students take 6 weeks or so.
