Could someone please clarify the concept of Myeloma Kidney? I don't understand if it refers to kidney afected by Myeloma (through Bence-Jones protein, for example) or truly invaded by the disease (plasma cells present in kidney parenchima)...

In MM tiy may get plasma cell infiltration in the interstium but Myeloma Kidney refers to MM cast nephropathy . These cast are composed of - Light chains
- Tamm Horsefall proteins
- albumin & immunoglobulin
These casts are nephrotoxic and cause necrosis of tubular cells It is one reason of Renal insufficiency in MM.But other reason of Renal insufficiency is Nephrocalcinosis and of course it is not a part of Myeloma kidney mentioned above.
