Could somebody tell me the proper draping techniques for combined RS and CVS examination?my queries are: 1.can we expose the back of the patient when we examine the anterior part of the chest in sitting position? or is it better to examine the anteior part of the chest in the supine position? but then it is a must to auscultate the heart in sitting position once..so how to go about regarding this? 2.is it ok if we examine the back of the patient before we examine the anterior part coz once w untie the gown, back is the first part to be exposed..so y not we finish exmining the back before the front? thanks in advance.

Dear Pbu, WOuld it be a good idea to expose both front and back at the same time and then finish off both CVS and RS systems together instead of seperatly. I think the idea of the drape is to cover either the chest or the abdomen and below abdomen areas, not expose both at the same time. I shall be on skype at cherianjohn@yahoo.com for the next 2 hours from now. Would you like to discuss. How is your study partner in chennai hope things are working out. Hope you have recongnized me too?. regards
