hi, does anyone know if i can cancel my step 1 registration? will they let me?

Only what I can advise you , is look at the web page http://www.ecfmg.org/2007ib/ibfaq.html , paragraf 13. Or just call them . Don't know more...... maybe somebody else could advise you better.
