can someone tell me how retroperitoneal hematoma causes paralytic ileus?

is it because the hematoma compresses on nerves that innervate the intestine...?

  #2

It is because direct peritoneal irritation.

  #3

agree

blood or stools or anything in peritoneal cavity would cause ileus
