Hi,

If you have one or two scores in hand , still to take the rest of the tests and in for this year's Match, please go ahead and post you credentials and interviews/rejections you've got so far.

I'll go ahead and start with mine:

Applied in first 2 weeks of Oct. with step 1 scores only: 94/233, CS cleared about a weeks ago, CK still to take in December (can hardly study). Graduated in 2005 (including my internship year). Some research/ publiction/ presentation experience as a student.

Applied to 52 Path and internal medicine programs in Ohio and the nearby states.

So far, no interviews, one rejection, one acknowledgment.

Getting extremely frustrated, can't study. Don't know whether to apply to more programs or even to another specialty (FP maybe??)

Please, if you're in the same boat, any contribuation would be of great consolation to me.

Good Luck to you all!

LooLi

you mean you haven't applied yet?

what's holding you back?, do you have all your documents ready? or you still have to send them to ECFMG?

I have incomplete scores. I'm still to take step1. I had it scheduled on the end of October but I feel the need to postpone it currently-chickened out...
I have no interviews, but lots of letters placing me "on-hold". I applied for bothIM and anesthesiology. I'm an old graduate (1997), and my step2 score is very far from stellar.
Now I'm working on my step1 score, trying to improve my chances.

on hold is far much better than the killing silence on your "MyERAS" .

Rasul, when did you apply, did you have all your documents avalible right away or they became avaliable gradually, and how many programs are applying to?

By the way, 2nd rejection from Vanderbilt, Pathology.

I was going to apply to radiology, I even had my PS and a LoR from a radiologist in my home country ready to go, but I eventually decided to just concentrate on Pathology and IM (backup), because I knew how unbelievably hard it is to get into radiology.

Good Luck to you Doc_holliday

I guess there's not alot out there applying with incomplete scores.

Does it make a difference to programs if your credentials verification is complete (sent by your medicl school)?

I also haven't applied yet, coz i got just step 2ck & cs. My Ck score is low, that's why i decided to hold on, till i do step1 in nov. I hope to improve my score then. I'll start applying by mid nov. Hope it won't be too late for me. Lets pray for each other so we all get something.nod

Good Luck to you too Janina.

A piece of advice everyone here keep repeating, apply as soon as possible even with just 2 scores. I don't know about Mid Nov. but I think it's gonn be too late by then.

I wish you the best of luck anyway.

Here's a 3rd rejection by mail: Indiana University-Pathology :-(((((

PS: Are there any other APPLICANTS (i.e. who already applied and receiving internviews/rejections) ???

Did I make a mistake by applying this year, not being ECFMG certified??? sad(

i applied with only STEP 1 scores. 94/232. CS pass. CK in early december.

103 IM programs, 19 derma and 20 radiology.

so far 6 interviews in IM, 3 rejections and 2 holds. Nothing in derma or radiology.

No usa LOR but usa green card holder.

i really wish i had CK scores because i think most of our applications are probably sitting in "incomplete" bin.

in all cases, good luck every one.

hey gtd068a,

6 interviews isnt bad considering the fact that alot of ppl with complete scores dont have that many ... if u do good on those interviews u have a good chance of getting matched to one of em ... good luck and may u get more smiling face

p.s. are ur IM interviews for prelim or categorical ? and the programs that called u for interviews, do they sponsor visas or did u selectively apply to programs that dont offer visas since u have a GC ?

gtd, I hve the exact same scores and awaited test as you might have noticed. I have only 2 interviews, one of which I'm very hopeful for..

But I've applied to far less programs than you have. In IM and Path. I shook Radiology off of my mind when I found out it was almost a gamble to try for it, especially when I'm not ready to move far away from the midwest = fewer programs to apply to.

I'm still hoping this season is far from approaching its peak yet.

Best of Luck to all!

doc holiday, dr. Looli,

i feel fortunate to get six interviews. i applied to both prelim and categorical at all the programs. the invites do not mention prelim or categorical.

as for being selective, my criteria was location. after location, i applied to every program in that state regardless of the program's criteria.
