hi ....to all
i needed some advice from the forum seniors ....
I was filling in application for step 3 ....the FAQ's stated , the processing starts the moment they recieve the information , n wuld be complete within 15 days n u r given a slot for 90 days .
but i intend giving the exam in january later half , as it is no exam can be taken durin the first two weeks of jan.
so i just wanted to inquire wether i should apply now of wait for later on ...as i dont want an early slot of nov-january, just to be on the safer side .
i really appreciate the way ,u guys are helping out each other in this time of need n confusion.

i'd say apply now as it takes time for certification of identity to get notarised and reach. that way you'll get dec jan and feb slot. i sent my cert of identity in second week oct and got a slot beginning nov 1

you can take exam through out if u've the permit ....except the first two weeks of january.
I want to give by december end , but missed the deadline for taking the exam this year , as for that application should have been filled by september 2006. but for 2007 i guess one can go ahead and apply.
so have u recieved your scheduling permit ...sobia ??

diyaa can you please clarify.i am thinking of applying this week.can i then take the exam by the end of dec.i thought it takes 15-20 days to have your application verified and completed and then u get your permit.and a 90 day duration to take the exam.plz reply soon.thanks in advance

Sobia ,the main point here is ....if u already have the scheduling permit (application verified ) u can simply schedule your exam for any time except the first two weeks of january .
If u r applying now ...u have already missed the deadline for this year as sep4 2006. as in my case too.
for ur refference:
1. Is there a deadline for receipt of the Step 3 application?
All 2007 Step 3 applications and fees must reach the FSMB by 5:00 pm C.S.T. on September 4, 2007.
2. When is Step 3 offered?
Step 3 is administered at Prometric Testing Centers throughout the year, except for the first two weeks in January and any state or federal holidays.

diyaa i just talked to a representative of fsmb.she told me if u apply after sept 2006 deadline for step 3 u can get the earliest exam date in november.so if u apply now u might get a dec date based on available test dates.can anyone plz throw some more light on this
