for bbb, is it better to email the program directors directly or the program administrators?.. i know you might think its not wise to email either but it sure is better than calling because its always an answering machine you end up talking to. Please advise.

they are really swamped. i tried calling but same thing. In the end when i reached a coordinator, she was really sweet and told me that every day she has 50-60 messages on phone and 500 emails. 
i felt very guilty, I apologised....

dev i know what you mean, but all these seniors keep stressing on this one note about contacting programs wether by email or phone.. i mean do we have anything to loose by emailing them?

No, you have nothing to lose. If you want give it a try. The worse that you will get is voice mail, and no call back. Or you might actually get through to me and talk with me. And I'll tell you that it's still in process.
Or email me so that I can delete it with the other 240 emails for the day.

thanks bbb for the valuable insight you provide.. 240 emails is alot.. won't be bothering many prog admin then.. but just to make a point here.. the reason why so many seniors advocate calling or emailing programs is because they have themselves got interview invitations that way.. so i guess the probability is small that your call will go through or that your email will be read but there is a small group that it has worked for.. and since like bbb said " YOU have nothing to loose ".. i hope others can pitch in with their experiences about this
