Can someone pls tell me if we can do pathology program without doing autopsy?

Thank you!

no.

and if you're not down with doing autopsies, you should think of another service. granted, the number of autopsies done (both ML and hospital) are going down... but in terms of pathology, that's one thing you need to be good at.

Pathology without autopsy is NOT pathology!

please revise your options if you don't feel comfortable doing it.

Good luck !

not only that, there is a certain number of autopsies required to sit for the anatomic pathology boards...50 i think!

as for considering another specialty, that's an option. but i suggest observing a few autopsies first to see if you really despise it that much. to be honest, i was terrified of having to do autopsies. but when i started my observership in forensics, i ended up loving it so much that i'm considering going into forensics myself! it really isn't that bad.

good luck!
