Hai friends I had posted my score in exam score thread& want to share my experience with u. I was a silent reader of this forum,waiting for my chance.Finally the day has come.I prepared for 6 to 7 months,initially studied on&off but studied hard for last 4months.I read only kaplan lecture notes except for path I read goljan review and for pharmac katzung review.I also read first aid which helped for quick revision just before the test. The day before the test I was not able to sleep ,I slept for about an hour ,bcos of lack of sleep I was having many doubts ....whether I will be able to concentrate,read all options in answering all the questions. Freinds but now I can say its posssible to concentrate even with lack of full nightssleep,dont be afraid of that. My test was at 10 am on sept 20th,I reached the test centre at 8 am ,they allowed me to start the test at 8 30am .While looking at the first question my hands were trembling,after few questions I was releived and was able to concentrate well. Finished first block in time was to review all the questions but didnt much changes in my answers.Took rest for a couple of minutes and began second and then took rest for another couple of minutes and did third.After that I took a break of 15 min to have my lunch and relaxed for 5min.Then I completed 4th and 5th blocks and took a break for 15 min ,had some mango juice .Then i finished 6th and 7th blocks& finished the survey. I finished all the blocks in time and reviewed all the questions at the end of each block. I felt disribution of questions was equally covering all the subjects and most of the highyield topics.I had some questions same as in NBME and some from Kaplan Qbank.I felt the test was a easier version . Most of the questions were very simple asking from basics,but they were lengthier than Kaplan and NBME,for some questions there was so many options but dont look at the options first ,after u read the question u can easily pick the answer. I actually had taken coaching in India but i feel its useless,Only thing u need to read the kapllan notes again and again& to go through the questions and answers as well in the Qbank. I finished my kaplan qbank a month before the finalexam but gone through all the questions once again which helped me a lot. I read first aid during the last 2 and half months ,felt it was very usefull for quick overview. Finally I want to say that the only way to achieve good score is that u have to read kaplan notes again and again,do all questions in qbank very carefully ,there is no need of any other books and do all the Nbme forms if u can afford bcos u will a get most questions similar in pattern to them. ,I used to read the expericences in exam score thread and felt very inspiring.With all ur support I finally succceeded in step 1,when it is possible for me it is possilble for everyone ,dont give off ur effort but try hard u will finally achieve. Great ! Many congrats !
If you dont mind... on average how many times did you go thru all K notes and are you talking abt Rapid Review Patho of Goljan ? or Goljan notes -500 pg ?
Q bank and all 4 forms NBME--> should be around 3000Qs !
How abt Q book ?

You got the welldeserved score after such hard work .Can you please advise on neuroanatomy ?
How many ct scans you had ?Is it possible to judge answer from stem of Q's ?What resources did you use other tha kaplan for the same ?

I'm studying from "microbiology ridiculously easy" and im exhausted over the list of treatments they offer for each bacteria. They list several antiobiotics that can treat each infection. I'm confused over which treatment to memorize for each infection. Are we suppose to remember all of the antiobiotics for each infection? I also looked over kaplan micro and it also offers several treatment for some of the infections and some of the treatments are different from the ones listed on "ridiculously easy". Im confused over which treatments to memorize. Can someone plz help me out on how i should approach this. which source should i use for the treatments?

First I want to thank all of u .
luckyall,I read k notes about 4 to 5 times ,first reading was to know wat is their in the books and further readings to understand and assimilate. I read pathology review by goljan (350 pages)which I bought in India ,I am not sure whether it is same as one which u mentined.Ans Kqbook I finished only abt 60% of questions bcos I started it just before the final test and used to score about 70 to 80%. During last 1month from these forums I came to know that there about 800 freequestions in webpath,and solved about 50%of them ,didnt have time to complete .I felt they were more usefull when we start our preparation so as to get an idea that each topic can tested in different ways.
Hi step12006, I didnt get much from neuroanatomy,I gotpictures of brainstem gross specimens,spinalcord sections,CT of brain, some other which were easy to identify from the stemq's.I got MRI of knee joint asking to point out ligament according to descrription.I didnt use any other resources other than what I had mentioned earlier.
Hi slacker I read treatments for each bacteria from kaplan micro notes,I felt it was hard to know Rx of each and every bacteria from pharmac so i thought it is better to learn from micro itself.Bcos I read only Kaplan I have no idea about microbiology ridiculously easy. I got some questions asking about drug of choice for some important bacteria which u can remember easily.
