iam a silent member of this forum. i used to read all the exam experiences and q posted in the forum. actually i had a short period of time to study. i joined kaplan course, after the course i studied for 6 weeks. and thats more than enough to study and i was not able to bear the tension i had. i will say wat all mistakes i did during my prep. first pls , hav a good night sleep the day before the exam. i didnt sleep till 3 am. the next day i had sever headache and cudnt see the screen, vomited in the exam hall &etc. dont get panicky.. relax on the exam day. u r not going to recall something exactly and write. everything there is applying ur knowledge. my prep- i just used kaplan tapes and study materials for all the subjects. i had goljan audios and book but no time to study! kaplan online q bank was very helpful.. but one thing, the questions in the real exam is really tough, not as q bank! i had a lot of q from neuroanat and molecular biology. i cudnt answer many q. i came out of the exam hall saying i wud fail... but, wat i say is, study kaplan notes 3 times, all the sub and relax. hav good sleep for 5 days before exam.. go without tension.. dont mark too many q in one block. just mark 2 or 3 if at all needed.finish the exam and dont think abt it till u get the scores. my q bank score:75%average {68%-84%} i didnt take nbme. kaplna simulated- 1 test 4 blocks. score-73% my real score- 94/233

thank u guys! i graduated in 2005. i didnt use FA. i bought it with the idea of studying.. but truly i never touched the book! dear mediocre, regarding "dont mark too many q in a block" doesnt mean marking answers. wen doing a block, we hav marking options so that we will be able to review the block once finishing that and it will be easy to see the q which we want to.. please do answer all the q and do not mark too many q for reviewing.

I'm studying from "microbiology ridiculously easy" and im exhausted over the list of treatments they offer for each bacteria. They list several antiobiotics that can treat each infection. I'm confused over which treatment to memorize for each infection. Are we suppose to remember all of the antiobiotics for each infection? I also looked over kaplan micro and it also offers several treatment for some of the infections and some of the treatments are different from the ones listed on "ridiculously easy". Im confused over which treatments to memorize. Can someone plz help me out on how i should approach this. which source should i use for the treatments?

hi slacker, i read only kaplan micro and didnt read ridiculously easy. but i had qs as treatment of choice. dont get confused urself. just follow one book. but its a must to remember them. coz those are the straight forward qs we can expect in our exam. just remember some imp stuff like do not give penicillin for mycoplasma and treatment for gonorrhoea etc..
