Hello, I am an IMG from Peru, step 1 and 2 scores of 94/99 respectively. My LORīs were just delivered to the ECFMG today (fedex tracking service). My question is, do you recomend me to apply today, or wait until ECFMG scans my documents? (takes about 7 business days to process) The big drawback of applying now is that I could get rejected for having an incomplete applcation, but I have heard other people being put on hold fot that reason. Please, what do you recomend? Thank you very much

No two ways about it: APPLY TODAY AND APPLY RIGHT NOW IF POSSIBLE! I had applied with my letters in the mail and didnt receive rejections for an "incomplete" application. This is peak match time: you have good scores and so it is imperative that you have your application in now. Goodluck!

Hi dr Tsuka, If today were Sep 1st, I would wait to have all the documents scanned and then apply. But today is already Oct 16, I would go ahead and apply and take the risk of an incomplete application rather than wait for 7-10 business days from now.

Hi I am also from Peru applying to the residency this year. Probably you have applied through ERAS by now. My advice is the following: to increases your chances to get interviews and therefore match into a residency you need some contacts in the programs that you are applying. Call your friends who have matched last year and ask them to talk about you to the program directors or contact directly the program directors of IMG-friendly programs. In addition, take your step 3 and sign a contract with an H1B. Good Luck!

Hi, thanks everyone for the advice. Yes, I have applied to about 75 programs, eventhough 2 LOR are still in process. I had 2 rejections so far from George Washington U. program (kind a rude rejection letter btw) and Abington in Pennsylvania but had 2 invitations from A. Einstein in Philadelphia and Geisinger medical center in Danville, PA both hospitals at which I recently spent some time as an observer I know that I applied late, but I'm concerned about being rejected because of my incomplete application, but anyway I guess I will just have to wait Thanks
