i have graduated from medical school. and am a average student.
need help for usmle steps.
what is minimum time to study per day to pass step 1 in 10 months.
i have not entered into resiency in my country yet.should i enter into residency to get clinical experiance(residency timiings are 10 to 11 hours per day).then i can give only 3-4 hours for study then how long it will take me to pass step 1 while studiyg 3 hours a day
.
or should i not enter into residency in my country and pass step 1 giving maximun time to study like 10-13 hours per day then how long it will take to pass step 1.i.e in how many months i will be able to completely cover books.
is USA clinical experiance is required for getting into residency in USA or anything else?

Well I willask you some Qs and then will reply to your answer..............
1-How many hours did you study to pass your final medical exam?
2-How many books did you study to pass this final exam?
this USMLE step exam is no difference than these final exam so dont worry about these thing.
step1 can be passed with just 4 month prep... this is a very individual problem . If I say you have to study for 10 hour per day ,, are you sure you will use all these 10 hour on study? the answer is obivous.........................
about home country internship is ur choice . In my country its necessary to have certificate of internship to apply for a post graduation exam part 1 . its like to save my home side if I dont not be able to get visa or residency then there should be other way to save my future years. now option is in your hand...........
some programme require USCE and other dont but its becoming competitive to get residency so better you should have USCE................

books for final exam.usually one for each subject.
in how many moths of prep you passed step i
i have kaplan,goljan and brs for path,
can tell me book that ustudied for hiosto,cell or molecular bio.
and also imagine if i m alredy in states then whats ur advice for me to go for step 1 or for home country internship.

well I studied for 10 month but I did not use all the 10 month for studies.. I had to skip from studies due to some family reason...
the book you mentioned are ok
follows these books ...

For most Pakistani the most difficult part of getting residency in the approval of visa but as you are in USA so dont come back just for house job. try to give step1 and then get some research job or observership... dont worry about House job..

if u dont have visa problems then i think it would be better to follow Star 1 advice but if u have a visa issue even if it might develope later on then i would suggest u to keep in mind that u have to go back , then finish step 1 ASAP n then look for a house job so it might help u to get a residency there in Pakistan i have learnt one thing from my own experience n from others that never even think of Jeopardising ur Career cos of immigration issues or visa issues cos later on any delay in ur career is gonna cost important things
