I just read the post about the PTAL in this forum, http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/24647 really helpful. Still have a few questions: If I apply for match in 2008, is it too early to work on the letter now? Will the letter expire? In the instruction it says only undergraduate clinical rotations may satisfy the required credits. Does it mean that we don't have to fill in any rotations after graduation in the form L6? Any response is appreciated!

Apply for the letter as early as possible. Yes, only for those undergraduate rotations. If you had any clerkship here in the states, you can include it as well.

Well 1) Even if the letter is valid for a year you can renew it every year ... Mine expires in may 2007 ...... but I renew it again before it expires... Once you receive the letter you have to renew it yearly untill you start residency. 2) The L6 is a seperate form for those who have completed a residency or have done PG in their own country . All the rotations uptill graduation have to filled out in form L5
