for pancreatitis, should use morphine or meperidine? normally it says morphine causes spasm of sphincter of oddi, so mepridine is desirable. whereas "strong medicine" says it is not the case, should use morphine. so which is correct?

"strong medicine - page 69" "cholecystitis ... start pain control. meperidine IM used to be considered a good choice because spincter of Oddi constriction was thought to be exacerbated by morphine. however, it turned out to be just the opposite: use morphine. "
