Calymattobactirium Donavoni a 13-year-old boy is seen at the office for a routine health screening examination before entering 7th grade. He has no complaints and is generally in very good health, the parents Mr.& Mrs. Trichomonas tell you. He has had a recent growth spurt that eliminated the marginal obesity present on the prior physical examination, and he is now in the 95th percentile for both height and weight. Calymattobactirium's vital signs are within normal limits and the only abnormality is a slight discrepancy in the shoulder level-the right shoulder seems to be about half an inch higher than the left shoulder when he stands up. Which of the following is the most appropriate way to screen this patient for the existing problem?

A. Radiographs of the spine
B. Myelogram of the spinal canal
C. Neurosurgical evaluation
D. Romeo Test
E. Juliet procedure
F. Adams test
G. Apple test
H. Look from behind and mark the angle
I. Mirror test

seems like a case of scoliosis.Radiograph of spine is the best way to me to diagnose although looking at the spine from the back is the most immediate way to look for scoliosis.

MDcooper, so your answer is - A

shocked anybody else wants to guess or this is a common consensus !!

  #4

There are only 2 choices which seems confusing.A and F.If this is screening in general population particularly children and if there is only slight discrepancy in shoulder then probably i wud chose Adams Test F.
After you screen with Adams Test the confirmatory wud be X-Rays right.
However in this case i am 50% on A and 50% F.any gud explanation is appreciated.

H. Look from behind and mark the angle ..

this is the easiest simplest test DR. Treponema Pallidium M.D can perform right away

  #7

BUt then adams test is also just like that almost!

"a 'hump' on one side of their back when they bend forward (the forward bending or Adams test)"

  #8

The Adams forward bending test is the most common method of screening for scoliosis.
