I see lots of people here are reading 10+ hrs a day. I have to keep my job and wait for permenant residency. Plus i have to sleep 10 hrs a day otherwise cannot focus. So is there anyone who works and studies the same time? if i study 4 hrs a day, how long it's going to take me preparing for step 1, two years or more? I'm not very confident now. It's been 8 years since i graduated from md school.

I work and study too. I graduated in 2002 and I'm also a FMG. I have'nt taken Step 1 yet, my test in in December. To tell you the truth I have been studing hard for 1 year and I think it's enough to pass the test. 3-4 hours at night when I get home and maybe 8 hours in the weekends, and thats not every day because family issues come up all the time, but you have to try to prevent things to make time for your study. I take my material everywhere I go, so if you see me on a train or on a bus I'm reading something, I don't waist any time. I think anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I just say that if others passed the test why can't I do the same, you can do it, go for it.
