hi friends!
i took my exam some time ago in chicago.proctors were co operative and patients were nice too except a few who were probably meant to be annoyed/uncooperative patients.i dealt with them calmly.there were four neuro cases,2 abd cases,2 chest cases ,1 disease follow up, 2 joint pains and 1 was there just for counselling.i could not complete counselling in a neuro case as i ran out of time and was a bit nervous durinng examination also and uttered "oh my god" wen i was not able to do a specific procedure but i performed it in the next moment.in the counselling case also, i asked the patient for examination and he gave me a very weird look.did i do a mistake by asking him for the examination?i didnt read the instructions for this case where it must have been written "just do for counselling". i came out 2-3 min b4 the last bell in this case.in another case,i forgot to make a very important differential diagnosis.a young female patient seemed very annoyed and most of the patients were givng the answers in "no no".in all cases i tried not to miss any point in the history and took a very exhaustive history. dont know how i fared in cases,especially 'only counselling' one and a cns case where i was not able to give the differential diagnosis and do the counselling in the last because of the shortage of time.rest also were very vague but i behaved really well and professionally.i did all rituals like knocking,introduction,shaking hand,purpose,history,summary technique,patients doubts and open ended questions,draping,hand wash before each exam,asking his/her doubts iin end also if time allowed.....i tried to do every relevant exam in every case.i came out just on time or few seconds after last bell.i dont know how have i fared and i have my fingers crossed.this was my second attempt and if i dont pass this time, i m not certain where i m going to land up.......very very depressed and anxious indeed.need wishes from all and good luck to all.tomorrow the result will be declared and lets see what GOD has for me in his basket .......praying and hoping for all good...
