there is a q in uw that mentions that oxytocin excess in labor can cause water retention and intoxication that can produce seizures and hyponatremia.in the q only Na levels were affected.rest of the electrolytes were in the normal reference.I was wondering that water retention should affect all electrolytes. Why in this case it is only affecting Na?

because the main regulator of Na is aldosterone and it does'nt effect Naq conc. only TBNa!

however other hormones like PTH, or aldosterone for K, they all contrl the conc.!

to be hnest i am not so sure though!
