Kaplan Qbank USMLE

I studied on and off for about 6 weeks. I recently did step 2 CK
and the materials are good. Kaplan step 2 was good prep,I did u world as well, New questions only..68-70
I scored 460 on nbme about 3 weeks to exam
The MCQ was fairly okay. There were many ethics questions, some of which i knew and for others i used "common sense"
2nd day was tougher i was getting tired towards the end of that day.Few CCS cases especially pediatrics were so so

Finally,If you have had clinical experience in a reasonale setting, you will surely pass, and you will do well/pass easily if you prepared well.

The best advice i think is to remain calm , if you have reached this stage, you are good, beleive it and remain calm.Take lots of break.

Congratulations and thanks for posting your experience especially since there is derth of such posts.

I too did my Ck in may and I have step 3 in less than 2 weeks. My uw score is just in mid 50s. I plan one more reading of IM and one reading of other subjects and uw notes before hitting it!

Good luck!

Do you have kaplan materials? i used mainly step 2 materials, but i also read FA step 2 and 3, and i read Crush once. I found the ccs section of FA very helpful although i also used UW CCs.Concentrate on the common themes for ccs.All my ccs questions were in FA.
Also dont be discouraged by the UWorld scores. Their questions are really tough and some of the answers can be unusually picky, and sometimes frankly pedantic.
I will still recommend it, but you have to know how to tailor it to your particular needs.
.
In my exam, had only 1 question that was a repeat of question i had done before;
Make sure you do NBME if you can afford it...make notes of questions you found difficult and check the answers yourself. There are some NBME questions floating in some other forum, but some of the answers are not correct

Hi xtant

thanks so much. You make me feel a bit better about this thing.

Yes I am using step 2 kaplan notes for reading. Did you use any specific source for geriatrics?

Good luck to you.

I post the following in response to a private querry i received:

1. i read crush once, and 1st AID for step 2ck several times, i read step 3 1st aid many times as well.
...these 3 books are good and i suggest you use them
2. i did loads of questions..Uworld, Qbook and then went back to review recurring thees in the books above.
3. It is a big advantage to do the exam close to step 2 ck because the materials are the same...just a little refinement here and there.
4. the CCS i understand is only 25% of the overall marks, but to guarantee a 90+you need to practice the software until it is 2nd nature to you...the actual questions on the exam for CCS were really common clinial cases which you will tackle easily if you are an expert with the software
