Guys: I need your suggestions. I have only applied for surgical programs and only got few intv. call up til now. I am feeling bit unsafe. I cannot afford to get unmatch this year. The LOR's I have are only from surgical specialties. I wonder which specialty I can apply to using same surgical LOR's and still keep the chance of getting interview as a backup plan?

hey maverick, were you in the match last year? if yes, what was your experience? Did you get any interview calls? To be honest, I will wait for couple of weeks and probably will apply for family medicine programs with the same LOR's. I guess peds and IM is another options. I want to practice in Canada eventually. I guess family medicine will allow me settle quickly, if I failed to match in surgery. I have good many years of surgical experience though and working as a family physicians is not what I will feel comfortable with.
