2 years ago i passed step 1 (78) and step 2cs (pass) on 1st attempt. for some unknown reason step 2ck gave me a HARD time!!! but i was persistent... although on my 3rd take when i did not pass it, i thought maybe i was meant for something else and pursued a different career path. now after 2 years i decided to give step2ck another chance and to my surprise i passed!!! but guys, it's not the greatest score in the world... it's a 75. but i still can't believe i am now ecfmg certified! now my predicament... i was not expecting to pass to i did not prepare for the match... i just got my letter today. so any chances for a person with the following credentials? i plan to apply to family pratice and IM step 1 - 78 (1st attempt) step 2ck - 75 (4th) step cs - pass (1st) currently in an MPH program. received a fellowship grant for my thesis. no USCE. so guys what do i do next?! any kind soul out there to give me insight?

Try Your luck! Apparently fortune smiles to You. If You can apply right away, do it. I can't say if You'll match or not( just like I can't speculate if I will match this year)- the answer to this question is unknown, and You won't know till You apply.

Go for it, you should be an inspiration to us all. Good for you.
You tell them, in your personal statement that although you initially faltered with your career choice in the United States, you still perservered. I'm thrilled for you. And I admire your hard work. GOOD FOR YOU!

Hi step2ckman, here are my 2 cents: Do not lose time now with your PS or CAF. The most important part of your application are the documents that you have to send to the ECFMG. Remember that it will take around 2 weeks to be posted in ERAS. In the mean time you can complet your CAF, PS, and research programs. Good Luck

i'm having a tough time with my LORs. the LORs that I have are dated 2 years ago. also when i looked at eras, they are now requiring that LORs be signed in blue ink! ha! the ones that i have are signed in black. it's difficult getting LORs when you are out of your country! called up the office of one of the consultants that i am getting a LOR... his secretary doesnt seem to know the importance of LORs... she wasnt that helpful at all... at this rate it looks like i'll be applying either end of oct at the earliest. i may not have a chance this year, but hey it's worth a try!!! PDs are still looking at applications in early november right?

The sooner the better. Blue ink, black ink, pink ink, it really does not matter. Even if you send just xerox copies, it will not make a differece. Time is what matters. GL

does the date in LOR matter guys? because mine was dated 2 years ago. i got LORs before I left my country. plus it does not bear the seal of the school. one of my LORs are not in the school letterhead.
