Why in MVP, onset of systolic murmur and the click occurs earlier when the paitent is standing and sitting?

thanks

well thing is due to increased redundancy of the vavlves in MVP, the floppy valves projects back into the left atrium during systole, and results in midsystolic click, when the porjecting valve suddenly gets taut due to the back up of blood!

now, as the preload on left ventricle increases, so does the volume of blood and tht subsequently expands the mitral valve which results in better apposition of its comissures, and therefore the valve do no balloon up into the lefty atrium!

- conditons tht bring the click closer to S1, include those which reduces left ventricl preload! ( inc. HR, standing, valsalva maneuver, anxiety)

- conditions tht bring the click and murmur closer to S2 , include those which increases left ventricle preload! ( beta-blockers, lying down, squatting, sustained clenching of fist etc.)
