I applied to some programs in Illinois. Is medical license a problem to practise there? if yes, what should I do to solve it?

This is the answer i got from a friend who is currently doing her residency in a school in illinois. Also, it's not considered a big deal if u have been clinically active. And, the PD/dept will help u in this if they r keen on u... "abt cme credits, i just completed it a week before starting residency. I guess the amount of credits you need depends on your # of years post medical school. category 1 credits, can be completed thru websites
  1. MedScape: http://www.medscape.com/home AMA website: http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/13497.ht... A private web-site written by a physian for his Masters dissertation: http://www.cmelist.com/list.htm
Category 2 credits: You can self-docuent these. Create a list of activities you have done that demonstrate you have kept current with medicine. Include the number of hours you want to claim, the date of the activity, and a brief description of the activity.
Consultation with peers and experts concerning patients, Use of electronic databases in patient care, small group discussions, teaching health professionals, medical writing, teleconferences, preceptorships (maybe, observerships?) participating in formal peer review and quality assurance activities, preparation of educational exhibits, journal reading"

amit, i don't know..maybe the illinois state board will have an answer...i stopped worrying about this after i got the above mail from my friend..just seems redundant...and self-documented?..whats that..how do i document in points consultation with peers and experts?and how do i prove it?..and if i dont have to prove it, what stops me from making an "elaborate" list and getting all the credits i want?...the way i am approaching it is, if illinois programs want me they will tell me what to do and how to do it..
