I got my associate degree in art and science since dec 2004. At that time, I did not have an intention to apply for OPT because I wanted to finished my Paralegal studies(Paralegal program is required AA/AS). Moreover, I didnt think that I could get a good job experince with an AA/AS. My question is...... Can I still apply for the OPT after I get the certificate in Paralegal studies? I'm so confused. When I read the requirements for OPT, it doesnt anything specific about the degree, certificate or diploma. For example "What are the Eligibility Requirements for F-1 Optional Practical Training? To be eligible to apply for optional practical training, you must: * have been in full time student status for at least one full academic year preceding the submission of your OPT application * be maintaining valid F-1 status at the time of the application, and * intend to work in a position directly related to your major field of study." I'd be very happy if anyone can answer my question. Thank you so much.
