Hi BBB, Laptop and other seniors!

I am a fan of you guys. Now I need help. I applied for three kinds of programs. So I have asked same persons to write different LORs for different programs (e.g. IM, Path, and ...). ECFMG has mistakenly send 2 LORs of mine to wrong program. Say IM letter to Patho, Radio to IM. I have asked ECFMG to correct these errors. But I noticed those program can still download all wrong documents after the removing. ECFMG said they can not do anything once a doc was sent out. So should I send an email to every program which received the wrong letter to tell them replace the wrong letter with the right one? I don't mind all the efforts and time, but I don't want to confuse all the already busy PCs like BBB. I remember BBB said she never saw two PS or two copies of LORs. So does it mean the recently downloaded file will cover the old one? How about if my wrong LOR already printed out? What dould I do?

Thanks so much!!!

Think what you will accomplish by e-mailing or calling .When your new lors get uploaded ,programs have to download it anyway:,whether you tell them to do it or you threaten them to not to do it . So calling /emailing will serve no purpose coz downloading will be done without prompting .

.At worst some programs (which have already printed your applicatin materials ,these are rare as bbb says) will have some extra lors for you .You can call them and bring their attention on this fact .I think they will understand on their own if they see 2 lors from the same writer .How are you gonna figure out which programs hav printed your application .You will have to approach all and sundry .

For programs which havnt printed your application -by calling /e-mailing you will goad them to focus on your problem which they may not even know about .Once they download the new lor they wont hav access to the old one

If you have applied pretty recently then you can hope that your application hasnt been reviewed by most or all .You can easily avoid calling if this is the case .

If you appplied say 1 month or so ago ,then its absolutely your call .Weigh the pros and cons and then take the best decision .If you hav already started getting interview calls then i would sya ,dont bother .If not then do what seems best to you .

This is what i think .BBB will have a better and authentic view on this .You can read this excerpt from ERAS in the meanwhile .

I deassigned a Personal Statement (or Letter of Recommendation), why was it sent?

When a document is assigned to a program to which you have already applied, you can no longer make changes to that specific document. The document(s) is scheduled for delivery, the same concept as placing the document in the mailbox and mailing it, you would not be able to get it back. If you wish to assign another document in its place, then the program will download both documents. However, the new document will overwrite the old document. Depending on the length of time between the un assigning of the old document and the reassigning of the new document, the program typically will not have access to the old document, unless, they have already printed out a hard copy of that particular document. If you want to make a change, you must de-assign the original document; create a new LoR record or Personal Statement, and assign the new document in place of the old document.

Hi Evemimi...its right what has been said by Laptop....Also, my advise wud be to get in touch with any one program secretary(probably one of those which u don't expect to invite u for an interview), tell her about it in a confusing way...tell her that you are worried and ask her about what LORs is she actually downloading from ur application( the ones she can read the content of)....sending e-mails might not be a good idea...also they might not response....
but BBB can tell u exactly how to go about it.....GL bro..

You mean I should call every Program? I tried earlier, but all i got are machines. I agree with u that email is not a good way.

When i am not involved in any of my anti Guruchu Mission ,I spend my time at love island .Otherwise I may be anywhere literally -even at the terrace of your apartment .

May God crown you with the right discretion needed to set the world on fire .

I typed an email draft, which even confused myself. I have to tell PCs that Dr. xyx's letter dated a/b/c was not right if you have downloaded it, and please replace it with the right letter still from Dr. xyz but dated d/e/f. I am not sure PCs even want to bother.

I also want to remind everyone if you have the similar situation as me (applying for different programs and have same person write different LORs). Please call ECFMG to double check they have assign the right letter to right programs. It seems they don't look at the LOR# and specialty at all. They only match the writer's names! They will not avoid any possible mistake they could make...
