Hi I am an Ob/Gyn applicant. How difficult is it to get into residency in Yale? I know it is tough but do they consider taking in FMGs. I am asking this becoz they have a requirement of one month rotation in IM in US and evaluation to even consider application. I can arrange to do the rotation but is it worth going thro' the pain?? Am I trying to take too big a bite??

Yale is an Ivy league college. So i think u should know the answer. by the way are u still in medical school?? How can you arrange fopr a rotation???

No dev I'm an old grad. Beg,Borrow,Steal...just kiddin. Rotation as in externship...is possible.

it depends how much you want to get there.
if you really want it - then it's worth this pain.
and in case you will not success - you will know that at least you have tried.
if you don't do that - you may have doubts.....what if...forever....
that's my way how i live and this is my life motto.

i know zilch about ob. all i can say is that yale does call imgs for its primary internal medicine and radiology. about ob - i dont know. and the rotation will help u in all ur applis. so i wud do it if i had the chance

hi hookorcrook,
my friend interviewed at yale last yr. an img, she too went thru externship to satisfy requirements. she has a 3yr experience in OBG before that, but not a formal degree. tho she didnt get selected she described the experience as awesome. your MD will make you an attractive candidate. i second vsp and apurva's advice.

LAtest news; my friend just yesterday matched into a prelim spot for surgery showing that IMGS can get into anything. NOt in yale though. I think u should do externship . she did it for 6 months though.
Ob gyn is not very tough, but getting into good program is tougher.
