Hey friends,

I was of the idea that 10 working days was all that ECFMG needed to verify the medical credentials once they had arrived from your med school. I remember a post by Sharvil neatly explaining the process and mentioning the time taken by ECFMG for credentials verification as 10 days. Today I called ECFMG and they told me that its not 10 days but 8-10 weeks!
Does anyone have any more information about this? If it really is 8-10 weeks then it effectively rules me out of the match this year. Any advice would be welcome (including the ones regarding guruchus)!

Thanks for the replies. My university has sent my medical school transcript + diploma + Ecfmg form back after verification. So, now how much time do you think ECFMG would take?

Here is the timeline
September 1 ECFMG sent verification request
September 18 Reached my Medical School
September 22 My medical school couriers it back
September 28 ECFMG acknowledges the receipt
