I think that I'm probaly not competitive. I mean, I applied almost 2 weeks ago and yet, no interview. Just 2 rejections and 3 on hold emails. Many people here in the forum (maybe most) already have at least one call. I tought my 95/87 on the board were good but I was wrong. Maybe I made a terrible mistake on my application. Anyway, I considering remaining in my country, and changing all my plans.

Hey Zip

Dont feel pessimistic..

we are all in the same boat here.. its still early for interviews to come if you go through posts on this forum ( even if some people have received calls)..

i can tell you abt neurology and psychiatry that people have been longing for interview calls and i hope its not very different from other specialties ...

Especially when programs have been receiving overwhelming no. of applications and bulk of calls would come in october and november...

Your credentials are good and i wish good luck to you for applications...

Just have patience and unzip your worries.....its the end that matters not the means..

well said delusion...and I think even the opposite makes sense.."its the means that matters and not the end"...so be cool...GL

Before you make so big a decision, just sit back and think of all the time and effort you have already invested in reaching this place where you stand today.

Its always the next step thats the most difficult - but apparently thats the step you gotta take - and you gotta take it NOW.

Patience, my friend, patience - there's a sunny valley waiting just beyond the storm clouds if you are prepared to wait for the clouds to dissipate...

Keep the faith...the best is yet to come!

goodluck!

Hey zip, the battle is not over yet. I'm in the same boat as you: 2 rejections and 2 e-mails saying that they got my application and that they will contact me later if they find me competitive. Getting rejections is just part of the process. I still have hope and faith; just hang in there.

Tx everybody. The only thing I can do is wait. But on the other hand I should consider other options, other destinations, especially where I actually live. I know it might sound pessimistic but maybe its not. I just analyze the situation. I'm ECFMG cert, I have interesting scores, 1USLOR and 1 month USCE. But still nothing, and I'm reading many pals here in the forum who get interviews with just one step or with lower scores. what does it mean? that probably other important criteria such as long USCE or graduation years are more important. or maybe I made a cruel mistake on my CAF or PS, which brings to the same result: 2 on hold, 2 rejections, no interview. I dont think this is just the result of chance

listen zip...all i can addis that don't give up that easily...what kinda doc wud that make u?raised eyebrow
I have a friend who had 99 in both step...originally a surgeon from England and cudn't get a patho residency interview anywhere.for whatever reason...Then when all matching and stuff was over she got a call from somewhere in NY and they made her join asap....So u see just maybe u are not trying the right places.ask around and find out the IMG friendly hosp. and apply there.Even if u have to reapply next year...it's fine don't give up or lose heart...that's the worst thing u cud ever do to urself.Good luck and take care...maybe take a little break.nodnod
