in sublimation the same energy is channeled to an acceptable alternative.
eg. a person who likes cutting and blood becomes a surgeon.
in reaction formation the pt develops an attitude(reaction) exactly opposite to the ooriginal unacceptable feeling. eg a person who feels bitter against immigrants( coz of challenge to employment for example,) spends his free time helping out immigrant families.
