If a resident is on j1 can He change residency program next year?

hey..yeah..good ques...i have a similar one... if one gets a j1 resi..for instance in his /her backup speciality...accepts it...but also tries again for the res of choice in the next match ..can they go for the h1 in that...?? plz....someone answer.... thnx

Can he change? Sure, he has to go through the applying and interviewing process which will be even harder because he is working a full time position. Unless you save your vacation for interviews. Then you run the risk of angering your current PD by asking for a LOR when you have only been there for a couple of months. Lots of things to consider. Good luck.

you cant change from J1 for GME to H1 without a waiver. ngt.
