Hi I am really upset now as my exam eligibility period will end by 31 Oct. I have extended the period once, and I am still not ready yet. Could anybody tell me if I can just take the exam, but not submit it at the end? Would it affect my record --as cancelled or failed? Thank you so much.

Yes, you can take the exam just for 'the fun' and then cancel it but it would still count as a 'failed' attempt.

Take an NBME and see where you stand. It's normal to feel "not ready" with the test fast approaching!!!
