I have hi-90'z score in step 1 and ck......2005 grad but need visa i have not taken cs till now....coz my visa is still going thru clearance procedure.... If i take step 2 cs in nov/dec......wht r my chances i Have applied in 80 prgz in IM and i just have 2 calls till now.......n i really think i m lagging behind in calls..... wuld prgz rank me if i take cs tht late.....as the result wuld come not b4 31st jan..should i except any more calls? ny comment wuld be appreciated....thank u n GL

please don't discourage people here with low scores with such posts asking about chances with these kinda scores...u know what people responses wud be...didn't u read the post 'DO U KNOW'......its a request..its a tough perod for everyone and lets motivate each other....GL

i think u didnt get my point....i m saying if u give ur cs after 4th nov.....u'll get ur result earliest via 31st dec......in tht condition do u have a chance to match.....coz thr rank order start date in 15th jan....

no one can tell about anybodies chances....and programs submit their list by mid of Feb. i thought...anyway the progams will have everything about u by the time they send their rank order list..so now u know ur chances with these stellar scores....did I tell u anything different from wat u alread knew..i guess not..GL

Please ask qs. clearly and those who don't want to answer them just move on....no need to be rude for anyone..what's a problem for one may not be for another.
ANYONE HAS A CHANCE always.....it's what u do about them that's important.U can finish ur CS and apply for residencies even now...if they need u they wil call..if not CS/not didn't matter u need to apply at the right places..isn't that what chance/luck is all about..check with in the residency forum.
And both of u GOOD LUCK get ur spirits high and Do well. God! Children!

hey mytime...there is no frustation...what i want to say is that where wud people with low scores go if people with stellar scoes ask these kinda questions...finding no msgs in one's inbox during a day in itself is so pathetic feel and then comes these msgs....i am not in confrontation with suleman..its my rational thought....lets stand upfront and show some HOPE to others...GL

My 2 cents:
Apply and schedulle your CS as soon as possible.
It will be tough indeed to receive calls as most Progs like complete applications from IMGs, however your bigger problem is not that you may lose calls... Although your CS score publication date (01/31/07) will be soon enough before NRMPs deadline i dont know if you ECFMG certificate will be soon anough too as it takes from 2 to 3 weeks after CS score.
Man, you r on the edge...
Your scores are very competitive.
If you have USCE and US LoRs your application will give you calls.
However deadline with ECFMG cert will be your tougher problem.
My advice, try to schedulle your CS test before November 4th as this will secure you CS results in december 6 and consecuently ECFMG certif before NRMPs deadline.

MD2BESOON..i know what u mean..i feel that way too but this guy just didn't know can't u see that.Anyway....if we don't like it we can just all walk away right so y rudeness is all i asked.....btw i know all abt. low scores. IMUNOAMIT....i flunked twice.And i hate it when ppl. with 99 say god knows if i'l make it...but they really don't know.I usually ignore those mails and it wud do everyone good to.Please don't indulge there.Have fun with ur cricket and u better win the game. Send me a pm if u do.

Hi suleman,
I'm in the same boat, will take the CS on Nov 15 but I think we should be fine as the deadline for the program to submit their rank is Feb 21. Keep praying and hoping. If they like you, they will wait for you. And if you take the CS in early-mid nov, hopefully we get the result on Jan 31. Thats still fine.
This is just what I think

btw, the USMLE website states that they will do everything they can so ppl taking the test on 31Dec are stiil OK for the Match.
