I want to a clinical clerkship here and hospital is telling me that they will not provide malpractice insurance. Now how to pursue this? Do one need malpractice for observorship or clnical clerkship? I assume for clinical clerkship it is better to have one to save yourself? Please reply who have recently done clinical clerkships.

well... new to usmle... what you can do is to apply for an observership... they don`t ask you for malpractice insurance.... University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital offers a 6 months of clinical clerkships. The second thing you can do is to ask if you clinical clerkship offers you a malpractice insurance. For example... Baylor College of Medicine at Houston, Tx.... I had the same problem... so I did an observership... One year of malpractice insurance can cost you 2,500 dlls more less... Hope I could help...
