55 yr male pt with Prinzmetal variant angina and moderate HT (BP 150/100) which one of the following agents would be best suited to treat both conditions?

a) nifedipine
b) captopril
c) atenolol
d) nitroglycerin
e) hydrochlorothiazide

Prinzmetal is treated with calcium channel blocker and in this pt would alos effectively lower blood pressure

yup!
answer is A.
nifedipine is a vasodilator that can dilate coronaries...hence used in angina!
nitrates...like nitroglycerine.... dilate veins better...not used in angina!
