Atleast prepare for ur step 1, maybe after you've done 2 reads, u can do a 4-8 weeks observership. That way you'll be able to reinforce ur knowledge especially if u get to see relevant cases and atleast you'll be up on the step 1 course so as to impress the docs u work with. Remember the more u know, the more likely it is to impress the seniors around u and that is how u can get a good letter of recommendation. Do atleast 4 weeks of observership. The more duration, the better it is. But personally i think its better to work at 2 different places for 8 weeks each than to work with one doc for 16 weeks :-) Regards,
