Please help me to decide. I am now in the process for greencard application which takes a long time now. Is that worthwhile to wait for 1-2 yr to get greencard in order to have more chance for residency match? ( maybe even longer, who knows. I heard someone had name check cleared after 5 yrs! ) Or should one get matched as early as possible with H-1 or J-1, then do a fellow? How slim is the chance to get H-1 for a old (almost 10 yr) graduate, but with very good score? I know it will be ideal to match into a pretigious Residency program, but if one decide to and can find a fellowship in a pretty good hospital, maybe get into a not-well-known program is not that bad at all? Thanks a lot!

Bhagat, Thanks for reply. You can holding H-1, but not J-1, while applying Greencard.
