To: All step 2 CK takers!!!!
Took my test yesterday and I´m still in shock. Today i thought about all the things I missed while studying for this blasted test and asked myself if it was worth it? I studied from 8 am to 12 pm every day and only took friday´s off for 4 months and about half that for the 3 months prior. I really do think I should have enjoyed life more during that time. There were alot of things on the test I never studied or would have studied if I had a YEAR more! Lot´s of mechanism questions and pathophysiology, very few management q`s in the lines of "8 year old boy w/cough, bestnext step?". Don´t think kaplan or usmleworld can teach you the basic understanding you really need for this exam. I think the most important thing is all the experience and knowledge you have gained over your career. Trust in what you know, no matter what med school u came from, the knowledge is there, believe in yourself! No one can do that for you.
HEY! Whoever reads this!!! What i´m trying to get at is don´t let this test consume your life or make u miss the things u love to do. If you miss your kid´s soccer match studying, your probably overdoing it!!!! I came to the point of thinking why do these americans (gringos in my country, sorry for any offense) have to put us through so much "·$"·!·&. Don´t get me wrong you NEED to study and study hard damn it, but life is so much more than passing a test. Enjoy every day that God has blessed you with. Take this advice and you will not regret it ever.

thanks for sharing your experience. i have had 2 friends sit the exams recently and they had similar experiences. many questions on mechanism.
it is so hard not to want to give this exam your all especially knowing it will be the major factor deciding the REST of your life. so i know how it is to neglect everything for the sake of the exam,. it is hard to find a balance between family, friends and the exam. the only reward you will have is when your results come and you see 264/99!!!!

Now i am scared...when you say mechanism you mean it had alot of patho-physiology-pharmacology? if thats true i would say lets all revise that too along with whatever we r reading now. the material we have to go thru is not even half as compared to step 1 so i think we can add a few things....Goodluck for you score..You will do very well now enjoy
