.40 yr old male is brought to the ER by his friends.He has apparently ingetsed some unknown substance in an attempt to commit suicide.Temp is 103,BP is 125/80,pulse is 100,and RR is 22/min.Skin is flushed and dry.dialted pupils and muscle twitching are noted.ECG show prolonged QRS complexes.Hepatic transaminases are normal and blood gases show normal PH.These findings are most likely due to intoxication with which of the following?

a.acetaminophen

B.alchohol

C.benzodiazepines

D.clonidine

E.MAO inhibitors

F.tricyclic antidepressants

Yes, MAOI ..does have anticholenergic effect...rarely but yes it does .
But, I agree with this scenario TCA was the best bet.

just for review : for ex. if you take Tranylcypromine 's side effects :
The most common adverse effect is insomnia, Other possible adverse effects include weakness, drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, dry mouth, nausea, abdominal pain, or constipation. Tachycardia, anorexia, edema, palpitation, blurred vision, chills, urinary retention, sweating, impotence, tinnitus, muscle spasm and tremors, paresthesia, skin rash and mild jaundice have been reported in few instances.
