what is the mechanism of hyper pigmentation in addison's disease????

Addison's disease => NO cortisol => lead to ACTH level to rise due to positive feedback...

ACTH has in its structure some resemblance with Melanocyte stimulating hormone and this MSH produces Hyperpigmentation

correction, acth secretion is by small cell ca of lung and not squamous cell ca. sorry about the wrong info sad

oh yes. PTHrp is by squamous cell CA. ACTH, SIADH for example by small cell CA.
