Well, I gave my step 1 and got my result too. I have got 99/250. see? Its not tough guys. If I could do it , you could too. This forum has been a great sourse of strength and support. Thanks to all who have aired their views and experiences here. I too will be noting my experience shortly. And to those of you who have still to cross this hurdle, don’t worry. Just keep studying and you will surely do well.

docswapna, dont worry. everyone feels the same way. i did too. and no, MLE is not an adaptive test. but that does not mean that you have to get 90% right to get a good score. i did 70% avg on kaplan q bank. and on nbme i did 95 2 digit score. so its ok. dont panic. the qs are supposed to be scored depending on the difficulty. so if you have enough easy qs, you should do well. this is how i analysed my good score. but i cant give you e reference for this. if you want to talk with me privately, pls send me your email id. i run out of PMs everyday. so i could not PM you.

Friends, here’s what I promised. And sam27 am sorry for the delay. I kept in touch with my subjects all through my internship. I didn’t exactly study hard but I kept looking up things as and when I was curious about certain patients. I started studying in earnest in april of this year. I wanted to take the exam in july. But I lost my scheduling permit and had to reschedule to aug 2nd . so I had plenty of time to prepare well. I used kaplan notes and the goljan book and kaplan q bank cd. I did not do any online q banks. I also did not do the kaplan q book. I cant tell how many times I read kaplan notes cause that’s not my style. I just read a topic, a page here and there, whatever interests me. But I covered all subjects thoroughly. Read tough stuff atleast 10 times. I was weak in biochem and physio. So I read these a lot. Its imp to be good in pathology I did not find pharmac tough. Kaplan has thrashed out each subject very well. I did it a couple of times. I was lucky in that I did not get too many pharmac qs on my exam. Kaplan has done micro very well. I did not listen to any cds. Anatomy as given in kaplan is more than enough. So by now you must know where this is going. Kaplan, kaplan, and kaplan. I do not know about other review books. All I can say is that k worked for me. Well, hope this helps someone.

well mediocre, the reason i did not mention FA is because i did not read it. i bought it and then found it so boring. i used to just sleep over it. and yes, seems. i did kaplan patho plus goljan. K has discused hemat in an excellent manner. so also leukemias. thats what i read. thanks to all for your wishes.
