Hi, I am an IMG from INDIA. I got a 99/252 in USMLE step 1, Passed step 2CS and awaiting Step 2 CK results next week. I have three years of residency experience in Internal Medicine in India. I want to do ophthalmology. I have already applied. But i am not sure how to write the TRANSITIONAL YEAR PERSONAL STATEMENT. I mean do i have to mention that i want to pursue opthalmology after my transitional year? How much weightage should i give to writing my interests in opthalmology? Will my three years of residency in medicine hamper my chances in ophthalmology residency?

Sorry, I can't answer this - I have never worked in Ophthalmology or Transitional.
