If somebody could clarify about possibility of taking the step3 exam before starting residency? Is it an absoulte requirement to be finished with atleast 1 year of residency before taking step3?

No its not required.
Pls choose the state that allow you to give like CT is one of them.

Lancer, thanks for your quick response.
But I am still wondering about the License requirements posted on FSMB.org website. The minimum requirement is to have 1 year of residency for most states.
