Hi Moozy, i think it is easier to get IM than pediatrics.
As far as the expeience stuff counts it does not matter much.

Moozy: If u have experience in IM in US, I guess it works in Peds or any field for that matter.
M verma: MOst people posting topics on this forum these days havent joined any program yet . They are applicants for the 2007 Match.U can go to the websites of residency progs thru FREIDA,call them or email for any further clarifications. And yes...hurry up!!!

I am surprised to hear that, because i have applied to paeds thinking they might accept my scores, where IM programs are not offering me interviews...
I ahve applied to 25 programs in MA, NY and PA
did not gather much info.. just applied where i met the criteria

The problem with pediatrics is number of seats are less, second thibg there r some people both amg's and img's with good scores and experience who apply for peds programs.
Third thing lot of IM aspirants have applied for pediatrics as a back up, so it again increases the competition.
But dont worry moozy it not yet peak time for getting calls. I know some programs that plan to call only after thanks giving.
