I know billiardking that you probably will not divulge the name of the program .. could you just let us know if its in the EAST, WEST or MID-WEST. And also do you know even by word of mouth if any programs in CA do offer prematches?...... Congrats for your prematch . When's the party

Hey guys: boo: I'll say MID-WEST and leave it at that. regarding CA programs, I really do not know as I did not apply there. It was too late to get the cali letter. Maybe someone else in the forum can advise you. As for the party, its already begun pniy: Yes, those are my attempts. Leaving a gap of 12 years left me kinda of brain dead Good Luck everyone.

Congrats BilliardKing, I am glad that a long journey is finally ended. I have a question for people based upon what they have heard happening in past matches. My wife and I are in couples match we applied to 22 programs with 14 interviews and 0 rejections so far. Our stats are 84/81/pass/ 72 weeks USCE, 80/pass/take in 2 weeks and 72 weeks in USCE. Is there any way to judge based on time asked to interview or any inside track to determine where you stand with a program? I guess what I am feeling like is 14 interviews may just because we are average candidates. BiliardKing, did you walk-in to the program and say, "I want to prematch or do you prematch/" How did you approach the topic. thanks, Tim

Hi Everyone, I thank everyone for their responses. I will try to answer some questions that people have PM'ed me 1) My USCE was a total of 10 months. 3 consecutive 'rotations' of 1 month each in Psych/OB-GYN/Internal Med in a Hospital. The remaining time was in an office observership in a family practice clinic. The PD seemed to be happy with the rotations more than anything else. His words "Hospital exposure is pretty much a MUST for USCE, the more the better. I'm glad you have some experience" 2) When asked at the end of the interview, 'Do you wish to say anything?" All I said was that I'd be very interested in any pre-matches that they offered. My interview was as 9am, and received a phone call the next day in the afternoon. A candidate like me getting a pre-match was something I never dreamed of. This for me was a miracle. I am happy and content and I thank the Lord. Hope this helps someone. Good luck everyone and keep your hopes high always.......

obgyntobe, I am from Germany but originally my parents are from Afghanistan. I know it is sad being treated like second class people but you have to consider that Americans go for loans in order to pay their fees for medical school and they have to pay all this money back later when they work as doctors. They have to pay about 200 000 to 300 000 US-Dollars so the Americans want their students to find good jobs and pay the money back as soon as possible. They want to protect their own people and this is ok, isn't it? Has anyone applied to Howard Family Medicine in D.C.? I applied to it but they say that they want US-clinical experience, I don't have any. They did not give me any answer so far.
